Ms. Duesund has over 22 years of experience in public accounting Experience includes tax planning for S-corporations, partnerships, trust and estates and for individuals. Her expertise also includes compliance and tax controversy work for a variety of business entities ranging from not-for-profit organizations, S-corporations, C-corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, trusts and estates and individual tax returns.
Ms. Duesund has extensive experience in a wide range of not-for-profit organizations. Her expertise includes compliance issues and tax preparation to ensure correct reporting at both the federal and state levels. Her expertise also includes applications for not-for-profit status at the state and federal levels. Ms. Duesund has a deep understanding of evaluating internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
Ms. Duesund also has broad knowledge and experience in international taxation reporting and compliance for entities and individuals with foreign dealings.
Ms. Duesund also has extensive experience related to representing clients that have issues with the Internal Revenue Service and Franchise Tax Board of California as it relates to penalty abatements, negotiating installment agreements, and offer-in-compromise, as well as preparing and assisting in multiple tax audits.
Background:
Ms. Duesund graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University at Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. She also attended and graduated from the Norwegian School of Business Management with a degree in Economics. She started her career with one of the Big 5 firms as an auditor and then moved on to tax. As a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, she also donates her time and expertise to various charitable organizations such as El Toro High School Boys Soccer Booster, St. Olav’s Church, and Orange County Boy Scout’s Troop 628.
